Hello everyone, I would like to address some ongoing trends in our current roleplay to ensure a high-quality, immersive experience for all participants.
I have noted instances of narrative overlap, players acting or speaking on behalf of others without prior consultation, and actions that feel out of place within the established setting. To ensure consistency, I invite you to reach out to me (privately or publicly) to refine your nation’s profile, including its specific strengths and weaknesses. I am happy to discuss constructive feedback regarding character development and playstyle.
Please note the following changes, effective immediately:
Actions and Consequences: Future actions taken in your turns will be strictly rewarded or penalized based on logical, in-character consequences.
Dice Mechanics: To ensure fair evaluation of in-game actions, particularly when testing capabilities, we will be utilizing the @D20 bot.
To clarify the expected tone: The We are One Summit is designed as a forum for diplomatic interaction, enabling nations to foster partnerships, establish rivalries, or develop “frienemies.” It is not a competition to assert dominance, but a space for realistic geopolitical roleplay.
Regarding the current narrative: Several posts have been disjointed, ranging from unrealistic world-ownership to inappropriate approaches. Please keep in mind that Thessara holds a superior position, and I am using the Hegemon archetype to facilitate smooth operations and prevent unfair “ganking”. As such, demonstrating hostility toward the Thessaran President in his own domain is strategically unsound and will be addressed in-game accordingly.
Clarification on Game Master (GM) vs. In-Character (IC) Roles
I would also like to clarify that my personal views and behavior are entirely detached from my roles as both the Game Master and the leader of the United States of Thessara. When I roleplay as Thessara, I am portraying a nation, not myself. As your GM, I am committed to maintaining a balanced and enjoyable environment; therefore, I will not use Thessara’s hegemonic power to launch unprovoked wars or attempt world conquest by overlapping your ‘sovereignty’ that you all seem to be rightfully concerned about. Such actions are counterproductive to a fair roleplay experience. Instead, Thessara will primarily function as an arbitrator to address unfair treatment and ensure logical consistency based on individual national capabilities.
To maintain realism, please consider the following:
Scale and Feasibility: Significant undertakings, such as a manned mission to the moon, require immense financial resources (Eurodollars). A smaller economy cannot sustain such a project alone and would realistically require collaboration with neighbors and allies.
Economic Rewards and Security: Our regional economy is designed to reward active participants. However, it also serves as a safety net for nations unable to engage daily, ensuring they remain secure and integrated into the narrative. These dynamics will be handled through immersive roleplay. The goal is to ensure that every action feels earned and every consequence feels just. And with that in mind we will proceed.
