Senators, Citizens, and Officers of the Government,
It is difficult, sometimes, to be up-to-date enough on the goings-on of the Region to know what we should be writing laws about. For some, this place is perfect, for others, it is a set of scaffolding just waiting for a strong gust of wind (or change) to be blown over. For that reason, this thread will be an area where all citizens can discuss what they think should be the priorities of the U.C. Senate, without the burden of official sounding language.
This is where you can let your voice be heard. As I review the conversation and identify a consensus on an issue, I’ll add it to the list. SENATORS, pay attention to this thread - these are your constituents actively voicing their concerns about the Region and it’s governance. Read their concerns, voice your own opinion, and take their concerns to heart by writing new legislation for debate and vote!
Here is the list, starting firstly with some of the things I have had on my mind:
1. Adding more Senator seats (how often should they be added? Should it be someone making the decision or should it be a formula that gives us the answer?)
2. Term limits! Currently the members of the government are in office for life! Let’s change that.
