The scientists at Makhachkala health reaserch center have just did something fenomenal! They found out how to remove the 47th chromosone, which causes down syndrome in babies.
The procedure goes something like this. The pregnat woman whose baby has been detected with down syndrome is injected in the womb with special antbodies. They have been made specifically to destroy those excess chromosomes. And thats about it. No surgery needed. Isnt that wonderfull?
And thats not even the best part. The antibodies can be served as vaccines, making giving birth to a child with down syndrome basically imposible.
This is fantastic news and it means one thing. Even more breakthroughs are comming in the near future.
