Pirates of the black sea

Today, the secretary of Defense has issued a protocol regarding the pirates of the black sea.

For those unaware, many tribes in the region called East Thrace have united and started an unofficial pirate state, plundering ships trying to cross the Bosporus. This is a huge problem for our countries trade, as most trade happens via ships.

This is why our Secretary has initiated “Operation Bizantium”. Hres the overall idea:

sending military patrols near the Bosporus to make sure the ships are safe	Setting up the military base to make sure that safety is maintained for most of the time	Entering the land to eliminated hostile tribes

The first ships have started to station near the bosporus.

Most of the smaller pirate ships have evacuated themselves, since they knew the didnt have a fightig chance with ~300 years old tech. But some stayed and decided to attack our ships. They didn’t really do much damage, only one destroyer had to be sent back to our ports due to future risks of flooding.

Thanks to the stationing, comercial ships can finally cross the channel safely. Although this doesnt mean the pirates gave up.

They still try to attack our ships, but most of the time it isnt a big deal. The most serious thing that has happened so far is a canonball snaping one of the cruisers antena, injuring two soliders after it fell.

For now, we can call this phase a sucess. We’ll soon begin phase two.

As for the phase two, 2 bases were thought of, at each end of the channel.

The first base went smooth as butter, and is fully operational and still expanding right now. It’s on the black sea end, which makes delivering soliders and workers easier for us. Right now, 5000 soliders, 80 tanks, 100 transporters and 12 artilery canons are excpected to be in this base.

As for the second base, the bandidts were two steps ahead of us. You see, they somehow gotten hands on the location of the second base and planted explosives underground. As the first supplies arrived, they detonated it, causing ~100 deaths and ~300 injuries.

Still, we now have a fully operational base, which means that soon, we’ll fight the tribes face-to-face!

After ~a month of phase 3, the results of this part are in.

On our side, the losses were unsuprisingly very low. Total, 15 people died on our sides on the battlefields. Really, the operation couldn’t go smoother for us.

As for the tribal communities, 150000 of them died in combat. Alongside them, 450000 more have been captured by our soliders. They will be sent to the mainland and sorted out. Some will be sent off to prisons, some will be sent away and some will have a chance to integrate into our society.

Additionaly, head comanders from the base have sent a proposal to Makchakala, proposing expansion into the region, setting up an oversea teritory. If it passes through the capitol and the international organs, a new Dagestani setelment will be founded.

An official burial ceremony will be hosted for both the victims of the “South base massacre” from phase two alongside the fallen from the phase three campaign. Let them rest in peace.

After two months of the military base in East Thrace, something happened. The soliders started constructing the first city arround the base, named New Constantinopole.

Although East Thrace isn’t officially part of DSS (yet), stationed troops think that it will happen soon and decided that it’s time for development.

They have started a fundraiser to get funds for developmnet since until it becomes part of Dagestan, it can’t recive goverment funding. Right now, they have raised 250 milion Dagestani Rubles (~125 milion €$), mainly from resetteled natives and people looking for vacation homes.

For now, the city has an official population of 3600 people, although many of them havent moved in yet. It seems like a promising development, we’ll see though how much will truly be unleashed.
