Thessara I find allowing indiscriminate expansion to be a dangerous precedent. I understand that the United Commonwealth isn’t the most bustling forum or region on the internet. However, having too many expansive nations could be intimidating to newcomers and make them feel they would need a claim of equal size in order to compete. Furthermore, allowing dominant control over pivotal parts of the world greatly advantages those that have been around longer. Sea access is a priority, as seen on the current rendition of the map. Increasing the amount of resources a nation has access to by simply expanding is a slippery slope because there would be no incentive to work with what is currently available when nothing is stopping them.

I’d love to expand up the eastern Mediterranean coastline, into Türkiye, have the south coast of the Black sea, across to the Caspian, and back down to the Persian Gulf since we’re on the topic.

Technically speaking, expansions require resources and seeing that your economy is smaller than the rest of the Union it wouldn’t justify such a large grab of land. Additional participation to warrant the expansion would be needed. Additionally I avoid giving full control over a specific area without creating ‘points of contention’

Welp, since we can theoretically expand.

I would like to expand to the teritories of modern day Iran. This would allow us to have an intercontinental connection betwen Europe and Asia, which means that many countries benefit from this expantion. This can allow for great investments opportunities and projects spanning multiple nations.

When this application will be accepted, we will send our troops to conquer the new lands.

Thessara I don’t find this to be the most reasonable explanation. I lost my claim on the map for not being active enough when I was the 20th wealthiest country, yet countries like Valhalrley and Dasolculta have claims twice the size of Dechikely, don’t participate, have no wealth, and survived the map purge. Where are the goalposts here?

It sounds like I’m getting snubbed because I didn’t ask for a big enough claim initially. I can only expand north if I want a land-connected country and it is being directed infringed upon. I am not going to sit idly and become confined to a peninsula. Dechikely will not stand for socialism below the 37th North Parallel
